Infant Hearing Program

The Infant Hearing Program (IHP) is a universal infant screening program in the province of Ontario. There are 12 regional centres across the province. Brant County is a part of the Hamilton regional program. Screenings are conducted at Brant Community Healthcare System or at a local clinic.

Infants 0-3 months of age will receive stage 1 screenings in hospital at birth, or at a Community Clinic. Stage 2 screenings, if required, are held at Community Clinics. Community Clinics are held at the Ontario Early Years Centre-Brant, and on Six Nations through the Public Health Office.

Information pamphlets on each part of the screening process are available to parents/caregivers. If you would like to receive one, please contact us at (519) 753-7453.

For more information on the IHP, check on the Ministry of Children and Youth Services website, or call "Talking Tots" for local information.
